Order of Christian Initiation for Adults – OCIA Meets Tuesday at 7pm Oct-Apr
Contact Deacon Robert (228-392-2137), or the church office (228-435-5578) for details.
The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults is an opportunity for those who are not baptized Roman Catholic and for Roman Catholics returning to the faith and for those who want to update themselves in current Church teaching and spirituality to learn without any requirements.
The nine-month journey welcomes those who just want to inquire, reflect, discuss, question and grow in their understanding of the Father, Son, and Spirit as understood through the eyes of this twenty-one-century old church of believers.
We meet once a week, and lessons are centered around the readings of the Sunday liturgy. We take this approach as we become familiar with the Scriptures, our story of God entering humanity, and we learn to understand, reflect, and break open how God is calling us through our humanity to willingly journey in the Divine Mystery of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. And how this is real in our everyday lives, in the here and now, this moment. We learn to look for God and desire to connect
with God naturally from our heart/soul.
The setting is relaxed, not intimidating, and geared to adult learning. That is, each of us walks around with a great deal of wisdom, experience, and connection with Mystery already. Our aim is to unlock what is present within you and build on your desire to know, love, and serve God. Come and See!! Come and See!! Come and See!! Come and See!! Come and See!! Come and See!!
